Robots

Recently I saw a robot on TV which was walking and carrying a person. I think the idea was basically to replace a wheelchair (allowing people to move up and down stairs more easily etc).

Here is a picture of another project Goto just showed me. One of the researchers who made major contributions to this project recently joined AIST and has his desk only only a few meters away from mine :-)



The robot can pick up and transport people. It's intended use is in hospitals etc. Check out the project website (RI-MAN) at the RIKEN research center. In particular this video is great!
